Personalization & your data
Velo can tailor how your assistant works to fit you. This page explains, in plain language, what it notices, why, and the control you have over it. For the full product Privacy Policy (sign-in, Calendar, workspace data), see /privacy.
What Velo personalizes
As you chat with your assistant, Velo can notice durable things about how you like to work — for example that you prefer brief answers, avoid emoji, tend to work in the evening, or care about a particular topic — and build a private profile it uses to adapt its tone and how proactively it helps.
Where it comes from
- Only from your own conversations with the Velo assistant.
- We do not buy data about you or import it from other services.
- There is no separate tracking — nothing beyond the messages you choose to send.
Your choice
Personalization is off until you turn it on. When you first open Velo we ask you to make a choice:
- Turn it on — the assistant learns and adapts to you.
- Keep it off — Velo works exactly the same in every other way; it simply won't build a profile of you. You can use the full product either way.
You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Privacy.
Your controls
- See it — export everything Velo has inferred about you, at any time.
- Delete it — erase your entire personalization profile in one action.
- Turn it off — stop any further personalization going forward.
All three live in Settings → Privacy.
How long we keep it
The underlying records are kept for up to 12 months and then automatically purged; older signals fade in influence well before that.
Who can see it
Your personalization profile is not shown to other users. A small number of Velo operators can review profiles internally to keep the system working correctly and safe.
